Hi there,
I've dipped my toe into the world of blogging.
The blog is based around the artwork I have in my collection. There will be a lot of Doctor Who artwork appearing on there over time, but there will be other pieces, too. These will include comic art, advertising art, comic art.
Feel free to pop over and tell me how to improve! I'm a complete novice, and have yet to find 'my voice', so any pointers are welcome...

Wow!
What in interesting weekend. I seem to have gone from a hobbyist painter to a deliberate fraudster or hoaxer!!
This all centers around my Lost Empire piece, and it seems that a journalist spotted it, and has based an artical on the comment I placed alongside the painting. The comments leading from that are quite funny, but I do not want to be known as a hoaxer or faker, so I'm putting the record straight.
It was a bit of FUN. None of my friends thought it in any way 'real', indeed 3 of my artists friends thought it was a good laugh, NOT an attempted fake. There is a modern design of a NEW SERIES aborted Silurian, freely available for anyone in the popular Brilliant Book 2011. That alone would tell me it's a bit of OBVIOUS fun. There's other things that mean this is modern, but I've explained them on the website that published the story.

Don't get me wrong, I find the whole thing hilarious that anyone could think this painting is contemporary 70s, but I do take umbrige at being called a hoaxer or faker. If I had been, I would heve taken a COMPLETELY different approach, and trust me, you wouldn't have had the 'mistakes'. As for being warned not to 'mess' with harcore fans, it sounds like something from a gangster movie! Get a grip, and a life. It's an old, rather wonderful TV program that SHOULD be loads of FUN! I've been a fan for 35 years and the important thing about the program is it's sense of fun and wonder. Let's just enjoy it, eh?
Btw, this is a personal piece of work that I hope is going to get a story written by an excellent writer here on da (I wont name him, in case he gets too busy to fit me in, which is a definite possibilty with the quality he produces),and hopefully this is the first in a long line of pieces by many artists.

A new folder, some special art.

Hi there,
Thought I'd better put a few words here to explain some of the wonderful artwork that will be appearing here in the coming few days or so. I hope!
Anyone who knows me will know what a saddo zygon freak I am, and I have been steadily commissioning artists to create their own special take on my favourite aliens. I've been in contact with them, and am hoping they will give me permission to post their art here. If they say No, I wont post, simple as that. I mainly created the extra folder as most - tho' not all - of my commissions are by people not represented here on DA. My pal Paul Hanley paulhanley.deviantart.com/ suggested I let the world have a view of this frankly stunning art, and so - creators willing - that is just what I hope to do!
I have also suggested to the artists that they join DA, as you can never have enough good artists on here, so here's hoping... I ONLY commission work from people I genuinely think are outstanding, and the art I post is art I really LOVE, so no it is NOT for sale. Sorry.
Andy Walker is the first to be posted, and I'm really pleased to say he has joined DA already! So pop along and welcome him - if you don't know the name you WILL know the art.
